With the weather getting warmer, it is going to be time to gather with friends and family. Chips and guacamole dip can usually be found somewhere in the mix of all the great food.

Instead of buying them, why not impress your family and friends with these homemade chips!

The chips are extremely easy to make and the kids could help make these as well! They would love to help cut or tear the tortillas down to chip size.

Plus, you may enjoy these chips SO much, you may never purchase chips again!

Homemade Chips and Guacamole Dip

The guacamole dip is very simple to make as well. The hardest part will be opening, scooping out the avocados and mashing them.

I am sure the kids will also love help in the mashing department. :)

The guacamole dip recipe also tops the store-bought dip as well.

Description

Easy to make guacamole dip and chips!


Ingredients

Scale

Homemade Chips

  • non-stick cooking spray
  • 12 corn tortillas
  • iodized salt
  • kitchen scissors

Homemade Guacamole Dip

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 2 tbsp. freshly squeeze lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic

Instructions

Homemade Chips

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Lightly spray and baking sheet with the non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Use the kitchen scissors to cut the tortillas into smaller triangles or have the kids rip them with their hands.
  4. Place the tortillas on the baking sheet and lightly salt.
  5. Bake 7-10 minutes. Rotate the pan halfway through so the chips cook evenly.

Homemade Guacamole Dip

  1. Slice the avocados open and scoop the avocado into a medium size bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados and add the seasonings, mixing well.
  3. Serve with the fresh tortilla chips.
