Easy dish scrubbie crochet pattern – and it doesn’t involve tulle or netting!!!
If you have ever made a dish scrubbie, you have probably used tulle or netting. I previously made a scrubbie from netting and I didn’t find it fun at all. I thought it was rather hard on my hands. Needless to say, I have not made too many. But that is all about to change!
When I was shopping the other day, I found some Red Heart Scrubby yarn. I had to snatch it up to try a scrubbie pattern.
I started off with just one ball of yarn but quickly decided I needed another. I found using one yarn made for a thin scrubbie and I wanted something a little bit thicker.
Next time I was at the store, I grabbed a second ball of yarn in a different color – that way I always knew I was working with both yarns.
Supplies for Easy Crochet Dish Scrubbie
Like I said before, using the Scrubby yarn is perfect. No more cutting strips of tulle or netting!
If you need to counter, I suggest using a digital row counter.

Good Luck!
Thank you for the easy to follow patterns. I have a family calendar of birthdays and I do something small for them.
I try to do a Christmas present or two each month so I can be ready for it.
Great Idea! I need to start thinking about Christmas presents.
What a great idea for Christmas gifts for the girls. I can so do this!
I Loved my tull scrubbies but boy did they hurt my hands when making. So happy to find this and today I stopped and bought red and white for Xmas gifts. It feels great and I can’t wait to try on my dishes. Thank you
I agree, the tulle was painful. This scrubby yarn is WAY easier to work with.
My mom is house bound. She learned the basic steps of crocheting. Loves it. This is perfect. I told her about it and read the directions to her and now she is starting Christmas gifts for her sisters, sister n laws, and neices. Oh yeah, and me!!! Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas! !
I am glad she is enjoying crochet!!! Enjoy your Christmas gifts! Have a Merry Christmas!
Easy – done in one sitting.
Thank you
I love this website! Just bought yarn for the scrubbies so I know what I’m doing tonight. Thank you.
I bet I do too! Have fun and Happy Crocheting!!! :)
I make my scrubbies with one strand of the scrubbie yarn and one strand of cotton yarn,( like sugar and cream), you can make them round or square–they turn out great and have more body to them. I have made hundred’s of them to give as gifts and I also sell them. Am new to your sight but will be visiting it often. Thanks for your pattern.
Great idea Sandi! Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you! How many scrubbies can you get from 2 skeins of scrubby yarn that you use together?
I don’t have an exact number. I have made several of them from the skeins and I still have yarn left. :)
I love Red Heart Scrubby Yarn! And now they are making it in cotton, which is even better!
Why couldn’t u make this as a double and then make a dishcloth the same size and put them together with a single crochet so u have a dishcloth and a scrubby combined. U could even make the scrubby bigger to match the dishcloth so it would be all the same size. I’m asking ur for your advise on this as if it would work or not. Any help you can give me would be great.
Thanks
Merry
