How to make Homemade Window Glass Cleaner. Most of the ingredients you may already have! Easy to make as well!

I don’t know about your kids, by my boys love to make messes on my windows. I can clean them, turn around and they are right there putting their hands on the windows (usually sticky, of course) or putting their faces and tongues on the glass. Ugh, kids will be kids, right?

Then I got to thinking, should they really be touching the glass right after I just cleaned them. Is it really safe? So I decided I needed to make my own. I know it is safe for the kids to be around. Guess what? I will bet you have most of the ingredients if not all of them to make this homemade window glass cleaner!

The Wild Orange Essential Oil helps to make the cleaner smell more appealing while adding additional cleansing power. If you don’t have Wild Orange Essential Oil, other options would be: Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit or a combination of any of the oils.

I am sure you are surprised to see cornstarch in this recipe. It really does a wonderful job and it doesn’t leave a film on the windows or glass.

How To Make Homemade Window Cleaner

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Glass 16 ounce spray bottle – I always use an amber colored glass when it involves essential oils.
  • 1/8 cup of vinegar
  • 1/8 cup of rubbing alcohol
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch
  • 1 cup of distilled water – if you don’t have distilled you can boil water but make sure it is cool before adding it to your bottle.
  • 10 drops of Wild Orange Essential Oil

INSTRUCTIONS:

Add the vinegar, rubbing alcohol, cornstarch, water and essential oil to your spray bottle.

Shake very well before each use. The oil will most likely separate, that is why shaking is important before using.

I only use therapeutic grade 100% pure essential oils and I recommend that you do the same. I love my essential oils and do sell them as well. Should you be interested in the oils that I sell, please contact me and I can provide you with the link to my store. I can even explain how you can get the oils at wholesale price.

LOVE this! I am currently addicted to Tea Tree oil and Frankincense oil. I add it to everything. Love your site BTW.

Thanks so much for sharing this. We try to make as many of our own products as we can (shampoo, deodorant, etc.), so we’ll have to try this soon.
