Did you know there are ways to get your child to learn, even when they don’t know it? I try to incorporate different ways of learning with my children so that it doesn’t seem like “work” to them. One way my kids have learned about colors is with snack time and Goldfish Colors Crackers!
When we started learning about colors with Goldfish, we first sorted them into like color piles. However, since then, I have made a printable that we can use to help sort the colors.
If you want to reuse your printable, you may want to laminate it or put it in a plastic sleeve.
I have also designed this printable so that as a child grows, you can add counting, writing, and learning about plants!
You may be wondering how plants would be included in the learning process. Did you know that the colors of Goldfish crackers are sourced from plants!!!
- Red: The red Goldfish crackers are colored using a mix of red beet juice concentrate and paprika extracted from sweet red peppers. Wholesome and colorful. You can’t beat that.
- Green: The green Goldfish crackers color comes from watermelon & Huito juice concentrates mixed with extracted Turmeric. That’s Huito. Pronounced wee-toe. Colorful and fun to say!
- Yellow: The yellow Goldfish crackers color comes from extracted Turmeric. A beautiful color that makes you think of warm sunshine on a perfect day.
- Blue: Our subtle blue crackers come from Huito (derived from South American fruit) and Watermelon juice concentrates. These crackers have so much fun, they never get the blues.
You could have a discussion on how these plants are used to make the colors for the crackers.
