Yarn Wreath

By now you all know that I am a yarnie, so I wanted my wreath to be made from yarn. I had plenty of this nice, grey color from my hat making and decided to put it around my wreath! I don’t have a specific decorating style in my home. For some things I like a country/rustic look and others I like more of a minimalist look. I think this wreath goes well in my home.

Supplies:

  • Foam Wreath
  • Yarn
  • Felt
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Christmas Floral Embellishments

Instructions:

Step 1: Begin wrapping your wreath with yarn. I secured the last piece of yarn with a dab of hot glue.

Step 2:  Create your felt flowers. To do this, I use a CD and cut around it, then cut a swirl in the circle of felt. To get the design of the red flower, I made a scallop design around the swirl I cut with my scissors. There are many different felt flower design you can do! Let your imagination run wild! I don’t worry if they don’t come out perfect. As shown in the flower below, I usually end up trimming off some of the edges that are created from my cutting unevenly.

Step 3:  Using hot glue, glue on any embellishments you have. I used different color pins to attach the flowers to the wreath. Since the wreath is foam, you can simply stick the pins in the foam without having to hot glue those.

Here is the finished product: What do you think?

I LOVE this! It’s SO pretty. I may need to get some wreath forms to make some of these. :)
