Crochet Shower Pouf Pattern

This shower pouf pattern uses both cotton for softness and scrubby yarn for exfoliation. My favorite thing about this is it’s size relative to other crochet shower pouf patterns I’ve made in the past.
I love the simplicity of being able to hang my crochet shower pouf on the shower faucet handle to dry, and have it waiting for me the next time I hop in the shower. Originally, I only made my shower poufs with only cotton yarn, which is a good yarn for being able to wash and dry your poufs. However this time, I added some Red Heart scrubby yarn for more exfoliation and texture and I’ve been in love ever since!
Crochet Shower Pouf Pattern
What you will need:
- Cotton Yarn, White, 250 yds.
- Red Heart Scrubby Yarn, 1 skein
- Size H/5.00mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle
Abbreviations
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet stitch
dc = double crochet stitch
Directions:
To begin, create a magic loop.
Round 1: SC 20 times into the magic loop. Tighten loop, but do not join stitches. Turn your work.
Round 2: Ch 3 (Counts as one DC). DC 3 more times into the same stitch. You will make 4 DC in each of the original 20 SC from Row 1. When you get to the last stitch do not join. Turn work. (Total 80.)
Round 3: Ch 3 (Counts as one DC). DC 3 more times into the same stitch. DC 4 times into each of the 80 DC from the row before. Again, don’t join and turn your work. (Total 320.)
Round 4: Same as above. Ch 3 (Counts as one DC). DC 3 more times in same stitch. DC 4 times in each of the 320 sts from row 3. When you get to the end, fasten off. (Total 1280.)
Weave in ends.
Scrubby Yarn Edging: Start yarn at very last stitch of the project by joining it with a slip stitch. Slip stitch into each stitch along the top of the pouf. Fasten off at the end and weave in ends. (Total 1280.)
Rope: The handle for this pouf was made using the lobster stitch to make the cord. For more information on how to do this stitch, please visit the crochet lobster stitch cord tutorial. Crochet the cord to your desired length, and cut the end tail to be at least 4 inches in length. Join cord to the center of the pouf by the tails, tie off, and weave in ends.
