- 2 c Better’n Eggs
- 1 pkg 100% whole wheat thin crust prepared Italian pizza crust
- 2 Roma tomatoes, chopped
- 2 Tbsp finely chopped fresh basil
- 1 c Crystal Farms® Reduced Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Step 1: Pre-heat oven to 450° F.
Step 2: Spray your 10-inch skillet with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 3: Prepare the Better’n Eggs in your skillet. Lift edges to allow uncooked egg to seep to the surface to complete cooking properly.
Step 4: Place the pizza dough on a cookie sheet and add the eggs to the top. Add the additional ingredients (tomatoes, basil and cheese) to the top of the pizza now also.
Step 5: Bake 8-10 minutes to melt the cheese.
Fit2Fight Type 2 Diabetes
Since this month also happens to be National Diabetes Awareness Month, it is time to spread awareness about foods and habits that can help prevent this disease. I know a few individuals who have Type 2 Diabetes and control their blood sugar levels with a great balance of healthy diet and exercise. Did you know that Type 2 Diabetes affects over 25.8 million people in the US?
Crystal Farms® Better’n Eggs® and AllWhites® provide great alternatives to using eggs in your recipes because they are fat-free, cholesterol-free and are low in calories. The lean protein in these eggs will help a person with Type 2 Diabetes balance out their blood sugar and also helps create a feeling of fullness, which assists in weight loss. The products can be used as an alternative to eggs in any recipe without affecting the flavor of the dish. They can also be used in recipes that tend to be eaten raw, such as smoothies and cookie dough, with no worry. The easy-to-pour container makes it virtually mess free and you don’t have to worry about getting shells in your food
