  • Yield: 6 Tablespoons 1x
  • Category: American
  • Method: Mix

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or glass jar, stir all ingredients together.
  2. Store in an air-tight container.

Notes

I usually give the seasoning a stir before using, if it has been sitting for a while.

To use for taco meat: brown 1 pound of ground beef. After the beef has been cooked, drained, and returned to the skillet, add 2 tablespoons of seasoning and 1/2 cup of water. Simmer until the liquid has evaporated or absorbed into the meat.

2 tablespoons of taco seasoning = 1 packet of taco seasoning
