An easy flower crochet bookmark pattern perfect for the bookworm in your life!

Cute little flower crochet bookmark pattern

In this day and age, I know most of us use a reading device instead of reading actual books. However, there is just something about a book in your hands that I miss. I do occasionally read an actual book and I enjoy the weight in my hand, turning the pages, and carrying it with me as I read.

My grandmother loves to read books as well. I usually try and find her at least one book to add to her Christmas gift every year. This year, I decided I would add a little crochet bookmark to her package. So I came up with this cute little flower crochet bookmark pattern.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

PATTERN:

For the flower, you can find the pattern in my crochet headband pattern.

For the leaves and stem:

Chain 6, single crochet into the second stitch from the hook. Single crochet to the end. Turn your work. (5 stitches)

Single crochet into the next 2 stitches. Half-Double crochet into the next. Single crochet into the next 2 stitches. (5 stitches) Chain 1.

Other side of the leaf: Single crochet into the next 2 stitches. Half-Double crochet into the next. Single crochet into the next 2 stitches (5 stitches). Slip stitch into the end of the leaf. (1 leaf completed)

Chain 35 (or however long you want the stem) slip stitch back to the top. Cut your yarn.

Now sew the stem and the flower together and you are done.

Optional: You may want to sew a cute little button in the center. I honestly don’t have buttons (on my list to get) so I did not add one.

Here are pictures of both pieces before I sewn them together.

I just left my ends long and used the yard to sew the flower to the stem.
