Love wine? I do!
A big thank you goes out to Flipflop Wines, which I had the opportunity to review this last weekend. All I can say is YUM!
About Flipflop Wines
Flipflop Wines, a new wine collection started by David Georges, focuses on bringing great flavor at an affordable cost of only $7 per bottle. Seven different wines are available for any taste, including Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir.
This fabulous company has paired with Souls 4 Souls and have pledged to donate one pair of shoes for every bottle of wine purchased. Great wines for a great cause!
I tasted the Pinot Grigio, Riesling and Pinot Noir wines.
First, let me say, thank you to Flipflop Wines for including a meter on the back of the bottle telling me exactly how dry or sweet the wine is. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You don’t know how many times I’ve bought wine at the store that I brought home because it looked good and I couldn’t even drink it because it wasn’t the type that I like. This feature is a HUGE plus in my eyes!
I started with the Pinot Noir, a medium dry wine. I don’t care for dry wines and tend to go more for the semi-sweet or sweet variety. So, I immediately poured the wine into the glass and had my “this is going to taste dry” face on. You know, the type where your nose is all scrunchy and your lips pucker a bit. I took a sip of this wine and WOW was I wrong! This wine quickly became my new favorite! I was so incredibly shocked at how smooth and flavorful this wine was. I was impressed!
Next was the Pinot Grigio, a medium-dry to medium-sweet wine. It is a white wine with a citrusy flavor. This wine is suggested to be pained with tacos. Note: Make tacos before you drink wine or else you won’t have any left to eat with tacos! 🙂
Last, but certainly not least, was the Riesling. Riesling is a fairly sweet white wine. It was also very smooth and great.
But, what really surprised me is that I liked the medium-dry one best! Crazy! it was seriously some good wine and I would highly recommend trying it if you are like me and typically tend to go for more sweet wines.
Where to Buy and Other Cool Stuff
You can purchase this wine from the Flipflop Wines website through the Underdog Wine Merchants online store, or check to see if your local grocery or liquor store carries it. I noticed it for sale in a local grocery store a few weeks back.
