It’s almost Easter! Has your little one created something fun to send to your relatives? This year, I decided to have my two year old create a fun Easter craft that fits inside the cards I plan to send.

Fingerpaint BunniesAs you can tell, he had a little bit of help creating these cute little bunnies. It was a fun craft we did together. Want to know how we made them?

Fingerpaint Bunnies for Easter

Here is what you will need:

  • 1 1/4 inch circle punch
  • 1 11/16 inch circle punch
  • paper cutter
  • card stock – you will need white and whatever color you want for the background
  • markers
  • fingerpaint
  • glue dots

Instructions:

1.  Cut the background to the size you want using the paper cutter. I cut ours to be 6 inches x 4 inches.
2.  Use the circle punches to punch out the bunny’s bodies.
3.  On the smaller circle, draw the bunny’s face using the markers.
4.  Attach the circles on the background with the glue dots, placing the smaller circle over the larger circle.

Step 4 for Fingerpaint Bunnies

5.  With the markers, write “Happy Easter!” or help your child write the message.

6.  Now to the fun part-Fingerpaint! My son wanted the bunny to have blue ears and tail. I helped him add them to the picture.

7.  Allow the paint to dry. Meanwhile, let your child have fun with the fingerpaint.
8.  Once the bunnies were dry, I helped him write his name in the bottom left corner of the background.

These little bunnies fit perfectly into cards. My family loves getting cards in the mail. I ran to my local Wal-Mart to pick up several Hallmark cards to place them in. They are always easy to get to at the front of the store.

Hallmark Cards at Wal-Mart

I love using Hallmark cards because of the great prices. Hallmark cards start at just 47 cents! I was able to purchase seven cards for about $20 and you could easily get more depending on the price of the card. Also, I am able to get a reward point for every five cards you purchase. Just picking up my Easter cards earned me one point. If you are not a member of the Hallmark Card Rewards Program, sign up now – it’s free!

What is a fun craft that you like to do with your kids? Do you make things to mail to your relatives?
