It’s snack time…..what do I fix? The kids will be home from school soon….what should I fix for a snack? Do you ever find yourself asking either of those questions? A corn dog is a quick and simple snack idea. I love adding a new twist to a normal snack, such as a corn dog,  and turning it into something fun. That is why I thought a butterfly corn dog would be perfect for snack time.

Butterfly Corn Dog Snack Idea

When I alter a dish from the normal serving, my son is always asking questions. Today, his question was, “Mom, why did you make me a butterfly?”. I told him that I thought it was be something fun and different for him to eat. He agreed before the butterfly disappeared.

Making the butterfly is very quick and easy to make. A quick microwave cooking of a State Fair® corn dog and a few special touches turns a dog into a butterfly. You can find the State Fair® Corn Dogs in the freezer section, near the Jimmie Dean® Pancake and Sausage on a Stick. Description

A Fun snack idea using corn dogs!

Scale

  • 4 triangle chips of your flavor choice
  • 2 chow mein noodles
  • Black edible marker

Instructions

  1. Cook your State Fair® Corn Dog according to the instructions.
  2. Once it has cooled, cut a slit down on side of the corn dog. Do this again on the other side. (this is where you place the wings)
  3. In each slit, place 2 chip corners inside. These are your wings.
  4. Take your chow mein noodles and push them into the top of the corn dog.
  5. Using your edible marker, make a happy face for your butterfly.

If your child is wanting something with a little bit of sweetness, try this butterfly Pancake & Sausage on a Stick.

Butterfly Pancake Sausage on a Stick

This butterfly is very simple to make. All you need is Jimmy Dean Pancake and Sausage on a Stick and syrup. First you will need to heat up your Jimmy Dean Pancake and Sausage on a Stick. While that is cooking and cooling down, take your syrup and make 2 heart shapes to make the wings (having syrup in a squirt bottle works best for this). Have the tip of the hearts join together. Once the Pancake Sausage on a Stick is cool, use an edible marker to draw on a face. Place it on the plate where the 2 heart come together to make it look like a butterfly. So simple!
