With the release of the Marvel Avengers movie, we decided to plan an Avengers Themed Family Fun Night. Since we couldn’t purchase the movie until September 25th at our local Walmart, we watched Ironman and had a Pizza Party!
We purchased all of the items for our party at our local Walmart. To view my entire shopping experience, please click here!
To kick off the Avengers fun, I received a special edition comic in the mail. You will be able to purchase a gift pack at Walmart containing the Avengers movie and this graphic novel.
At Walmart, they have a complete Augmented Reality experience themed around the Avengers that is so much fun! I love augmented reality. In order to participate you have to have a smart phone and download the Superhero Augmented Reality App. It allows you to scan store signage, take quizzes, and even take photos of yourself as part of the Avengers crew! There are trigger points all over the store, including in the Market Fresh Pizza section, electronics, Halloween, apparel, and at the Avengers movie kiosk (which wasn’t up yet in our store).
Here is one of the places I found a trigger point at our store.
Guess what? I took the quiz and turned out to be the most like Thor!
What do you think? I make an excellent Thor! haha!
When we got our pizza home there was even more augmented reality fun. If you register either your pizza box or your Avengers movie with the app, you get a scene on top of your product. Check out the mini city with Avengers characters on my pizza box. This was so much fun for my daughter!
I let my daughter pick out the type of pizza we had along with an action figure. She picked Hulk for both! I wanted to take a photo of Hulk along with our party decor, but couldn’t find him. Look where he turned up.
Yep, she just took the most masculine, muscle bound super hero and hid him in her purse. Poor Hulk. We still love ya buddy!
For the party, we enjoy several snacks and dessert while we watched the movie.
Spinach dip and crackers were great to go along with our pizza, chips, and drinks.I also did a little dessert making for the occasion. It was my first time making whoopie pies, so no laughing at the shape of them.
The Avengers themed party items were a lot of fun also! I used the plastic cup I purchased to put the chocolate dipped marshmallows in.
We had so much fun at our Avengers Family Fun Night! I can’t wait to purchase the movie on September 25th at my local Walmart! For more information on the Avengers, please follow Marvel on Twitter or Facebook.
