Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of ZeroWater and received a water pitcher to facilitate my review, two pitchers to giveaway, and extra filters to thank me for taking the time to participate.
Water is something that we need to survive. In fact, now that I am trying to diet and become more healthy, I’ve been trying to drink a lot more water.
The problem? Our water tastes horrible.
When we moved into our house, we were told that the water in our town wasn’t very good. We assumed it was someone’s opinion and really didn’t take it very seriously. Well, they were correct. I noticed that it not only tasted nasty, but it quickly left stains on surfaces such as the showers, sinks and toilets. I assumed then that it wasn’t the best to drink and started purchasing water at the store. We also got a filter for our refrigerator, which seemed to help some, but didn’t fix the taste.
When I received my ZeroWater pitcher to review, I was excited to first try out the TDS reading of our water. TDS, or total dissolved solids, is a measurement used to test the amount of material in your water. Here was my reading before and after the water was filtered through the ZeroWater pitcher.
I was shocked at my TDS level straight out of my tap. Like, mouth open, eyes popping out of my head shocked. According to Test Your Tap, the level considered contaminated by the EPA is 500ppm. I’m so glad that we have not been drinking this water.
After it has been through the filter though, you will notice that the “after” photo reveals 000ppm. Not only does the water now taste like it should, but there is no odor to it at all, which is another thing that heavily affected why I didn’t drink it.
My husband refuses to drink bottled water because he feels like it tastes like the bottle. This pitcher has even helped him start drinking more water again!
The pitcher itself has a nice sleek design.
My favorite feature of the pitcher is the spout on the back. Here you can easily pour water into your cup straight from the fridge without having to lug around a huge pitcher full of water and risk spills. This product gets an A+ in design at our house! It is slim enough to fit on the top shelf of our refrigerator and not take up too much space.
The filter in the ZeroWater pitcher uses a 5 phase ion exchange process to remove the material from your water. It is also the only water filter certified to remove lead and chromium. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to try out this product because we now have water that we can enjoy and feel safe about drinking!
If you would like to purchase your own ZeroWater filter, I would like to extend a coupon code to you to give you 30% off a 10 cup Zero Water Pitcher. Be sure to enter MC30 as the code during your checkout process.
What is your TDS reading for your area?
