First of all, let me say that we unfortunately do not get Verizon FiOS where I live. However, lately I have learned so much more about the service and it’s awesome features that I can tell you if you are in an area where you can get it, you will want it.
Television and the Internet are two things that I simply will not do without. Call me selfish, but those two things are my guilty pleasures! Once our daughter came along, I learned about a little device that makes my life so much easier, the DVR! I find it awesome that you can record television and replay it later on when you are ready to watch it. I do this with many of my shows that I don’t feel are “age appropriate” for my daughter to watch.
Verizon has taken that service to a new level! Not only can you watch items from your television at a later time, but you can also even watch the last half of it on your smartphone if you like!
A huge feature that really draws me to the service is that when the weather is bad, you have less chance for interruption in your service due to it being a a fiber network connected to your home. This is a more secure connection than the standard coax cable that runs into your home and also a MUCH better option that satellite service that cuts out every time a dark cloud floats by the house. Let’s face it, the most important time for us to have a television is for weather announcements that so many of us are not able to get due to the outages surrounding weather situations.
Another important thing I want to mention about Verizon is their customer service. I recently switched to them for my cellular phone coverage and have been nothing but happy about their service thus far. They are nice people to talk to and seem to be available when I need them the most. Recently, I have run into some bad service regarding my current satellite provider where I was forced to talk to 4 (yes I said 4) different people to simply find out if the package I subscribe to had one channel. That was a bit ridiculous and that is precisely why I wish that the FiOS service was in our area!
With Flex View you can rent movies for your television, computer or your mobile phone. You can also use Verizon FiOS to navigate your social networks while watching television! So, if you see something you think is funny on your TV, you can send your friends a tweet about it right away. There are so many amazing things that I would love about this service. I am hoping that it comes to my area soon!
