2012 has been a year of big goals for me – both personally and professionally. Some of them I have already achieved and others are just in the beginning stages.
What Propels Me?
I have many motivations to succeed. First, my family. They are the reason why I do what I do. I knew immediately that I wanted to become a stay at home mom because I couldn’t bear the thought of not being able to see my daughter achieve her milestones and thankfully, we were in a position where I could do this comfortably. Because I can’t go without contributing to our family income, I have chosen a career in blogging to share information with other moms about great products and services to help them and their families in daily life. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and I get to see the smiles on the faces of my family daily to keep me going.
One of my goals this year was to take more photographs so that I could get better at photography. Some of the landscapes that I have captured are truly breathtaking and they motivate me to continue taking photos daily to improve this new hobby of mine! I took this photo at sunset at a lake near my hometown.
My largest goal this year is to lose almost 100 pounds of weight. This goal hasn’t been very hard to find motivation for, because I have a whole closet full of clothes that don’t fit! I have been walking at least 4 days per week and look at those clothes daily, and will continue to do so until I can wear them comfortably. I also want to get fit and be healthy so that I can keep up with my daughter, who is now 2 and on the go constantly.
Professionally, my friends propel me! Bloggers don’t often have co-workers, so it is hard to sit around the water cooler and talk about our day. I have been able to meet many great friends that I would consider co-workers that I talk to daily and we motivate and challenge each other to meet professional goals. This year, I have already met so many professional goals that I am right on track for where I wanted to be at the end of the year.
