Midwest Travel: LEGOLAND Kansas City
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post at all. I simply had such a fun time at LEGOLAND and wanted to show you some of my pictures.
I’ve been fascinated with Legos since I was small, so I knew when they opened up a LEGOLAND in Kansas City that I was going. My daughter turned 3 this month, and I decided that it might be something that she would enjoy, so we planned a day and made the trip to KC.
LEGOLAND is located within Crown Center in Kansas City. It is right next to the Sea Life Aquarium, which we also attended while we were there. You get a discount on the tickets if you purchase a day pass to both attractions, so we went to both that day. I do recommend grabbing tickets online before you go because the lines can get pretty long.
LEGOLAND features many areas for kids to sit and build with legos. They have areas that are geared toward girls, boys, and that have bigger blocks for smaller children. I personally enjoyed the area meant for adults and featured a replica of Kansas City built from Legos.
The Lego City was in a room of it’s own and went from light to dark so you could see what the city looked like during the day or at night. It was really cool.
I loved seeing the sporting venues represented.

Also, as a lover of the Wizard of Oz… I thought this was the coolest thing ever.
The details in the scenes were amazing. For instance, the red shoes under the house.
This one also impressed me since I’ve attended several concerts in KC.
My photos of these totally do not do it justice. If you live close, you have got to go see this for yourself. The details will astound you!

We also just visited LegoLand & Sealife with our son and had a blast. Its quite amazing what they can build with Legos, and make it seem so detailed and accurate.

I do wish we had a Lego Land near us! That looks amazing. I have a trunk of legos, gathered over 20 years while my children were young. Although I have a young grandson, he would rather play ‘Minecraft’, which is a computerized version of Legos, so I have not given him this trunk. When he is with me, there are no screens…I think it is time to pull out that trunk and start building castles with him. Thanks for the inspiration!
