Easy Crochet Dishcloth Pattern

Need an easy crochet dishcloth pattern? This pattern uses the lemon peel stitch (alternating single and double crochet stitches) to create a beautiful pattern!

Sage Green crochet dishcloth on a weathered white wooden background. The dishcloth is folded in quarters. The crochet stitch used was the lemon peel stitch.

This pattern is just alternating a single crochet stitch and a double crochet stitch (also known as the lemon peel stitch).

I didn’t add an edging around this dishcloth to keep it easy but feel free to add one if you wish.

I hadn’t thought of alternating single and double crochets. It makes a nice pattern doesn’t it?

the dish and or was clothes make wonderful gift…I bought a couple of them at a craft sale. And I fell in love with them.
and now I make them as stocking stuffers for my friends at Christmas and or for their Birthdays…and they love them. They ask me to make them for them and they too…give them to the family and their friends.
    I love your site…Thanks again.

I am just learning to crochet and follow a pattern. On row 2 is it 1 single crochet, then double crochet all the way across, then next row again, 1 single crochet and double crochet all the way across, or is it always alternating single and double crochet? Thank you

    1. You alternate the stitch types in the same row.

  5. How many chains/rows do you do for the lemon peel crochet dish towel? I see the pattern for dishcloth but not the dishtowel.
    Thanks

Also, can you educate me as to how to make an even border around your patterens?

    Thank you in advance.
