I want to start out this post by giving you a little bit of background on my love for Barbie and what she means to me, then we will get to the review of a gorgeous new doll, the Argentina Barbie from the Dolls of the World Collection.
When I was a small child, my grandma used to take me over to her friend’s home whenever they would have yard sales together. The reason why I remember this particular lady is because she had a doll collection like nothing I had ever seen. They were all displayed in a curio cabinet and I remember thinking to myself that I wanted to have doll collection like that someday.
My first Barbie doll was given to me in 1982 and was the Twirly Curls Barbie Doll. This doll came with a pink Twirly Curler that you could place Barbie’s hair in and twist it to make the curls. I was mesmerized by this doll and played with her constantly. I still have this doll today, along with over 40 others that I played with as a child and am hoping to hand them down to my daughter within the next year. Every Christmas that I can remember, I had the same present request, a Barbie doll. Each year, my mom would deliver by ensuring that there was a rectangular shaped box under the tree waiting for me.
