You may be asking…”Why the second time?” With my first son, it didn’t go very well. I didn’t produce enough milk, simple as that. I did both formula and breast milk for as long as I could. At first I let it get to me, but I realized that I tried and it just didn’t work for us.
So when our second son came along, I really wanted to breastfeed this time. We had been through a formula baby and knew how much that costs. Money is tight around here, it is good for him as well as me, and I wanted to be able to say, “I DID IT!”.
So I am proud to say that I have been able to breastfeed for a little over two months so far! I am super excited about this. It hasn’t been an easy task. Sometimes, I fear that my supply is dwindling but then I learn he is just going through a growth spurt. Then there was the cottage cheese spit up right after eating…every time. At first, I thought it was his acid reflux. I went to digging around the internet to see if I need to be worrying about him. Then I came across a forum where someone was having the same problem with the spit up. Someone suggesting leaning back while feeding him. So, I gave it a try and it has helped tons! I can’t believe the difference.
Has anyone else had a challenging time breastfeeding? What has helped you?
