If you ever find yourself in the St. Louis area, make Grant’s Farm one of your destinations. Your kids will Love it, trust me. My oldest son still talks about Grant’s Farm every day and we were there a couple of weeks ago! He can’t wait to go back, he asks every day to go.

Grant's CabinGrant’s Farm gets it’s name from Ulysses S. Grant. He founded the farm in the 1850s. Today, the 281 acre farm serves as the ancestral home of the Busch family. Over 900 animals of over 100 species call the farm home. In 1954, the gates to Grant’s Farm were opened to the public. It is ranked 7th for the best family attraction nationwide by the U.S. Family Travel Guide Zagat Survey® .

Entering Grant’s Farm is free of charge. However, you will have to pay a $12 parking fee. Once inside, a few of the attractions do cost a minimal fee.

Our Day

As I said before, my oldest son loved it! Grant’s Farm is very much a family-oriented destination. It is a great place to let your inner child out as well. My husband even rode the camel after we learned that adults were allowed to ride. He has always wanted to ride one and was happy to get the chance. You can see in the photo below how excited he was. If you are tall, like my husband, you may be asked to keep your legs up so they don’t hit the camels belly and spur them on.

Camel Ride at Grant's FarmMy son’s favorite thing was to feed the parakeets. He was so excited when they landed on his Popsicle stick to eat. This is the main activity he talks about the most. He is ready to go back and “feed the different colored birds”.

Feeding the Parakeets at Grant's FarmFeeding the baby goats was pretty fun too. He said he was feeding them like momma feeds his little brother.

Feeding the Goats at Grant's FarmLast, but not least, the Clydesdales. We were not able to go on a tour the day we were there as all the tours were sold out. However, I was pleased that we were able to see the three newest Clydesdales. In a few more years we may be seeing these colts all grown up and pulling the famous Budweiser wagon.

We plan to make another trip to Grant’s Farm in the future when our little one gets older. It will be fun to watch him enjoy the activities just like his older brother did.

Make sure to follow Grant’s Farm on Social Media to keep up with their special events. I hear Halloween is a great time to go if you have small children.
