Last week I received an 8qt Cast Iron Round Casserole Dish from the Martha Stewart Collection for sale at Macy’s. I chose the Cranberry color because I have a dark green and cranberry colored themed kitchen. The color of the dish is gorgeous!
Key Features:
- Enameled interior for easy clean-up.
- Condensation rings on bottom of lid for moisture distribution.
- Stovetop and Oven Safe (up to 500 degrees).
- Large handles for easy carrying.
- Comes with a Lifetime Warranty
- The entire essentials collection includes 8 colors you can choose from.
The weather was chilly last week, so soup was on the menu. I decided to try out my new pot by cooking up a batch of Oyster Stew.
The stew cooked with a great heat distribution even though the pot is just a big larger than my largest burner on my stove. When cooking with cast iron, my main concern has always revolved around clean-up because you cannot put this item in the dishwasher. This pot was so easy to clean that I didn’t even have to soak it! The enameled interior made washing it a breeze. It is a bit heavy, but the handles are fantastic for being able to hold onto it while you are washing it.
After using this one time, my husband looked at me and said, “I think we should buy some more of these.” He loves cooking with cast iron, and since they are so simple to clean, I am all for it!
The prices of the Martha Stewart Collection Essentials Cast Iron Casserole Dishes range from $69.99 for a 3-qt to $109.99 for an 8-qt.
