My sister-in-law is a freshman in college this year and I wanted to gather together a few items for her to send her off to college with! She is also a fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, so I made her up a nice gift basket featuring a Herbie Husker loofah from the MascotWear line of NCAA sports themed loofahs.

The loofahs were placed on an end cap in the “Husker section” of our local Walmart, so I saw them immediately as I walked in the front door to shop. We have Nebraska Cornhusker themed merchandise all over our Walmart and it is nice to be able to go there and get great sports themed merchandise for a low price.
Herbie was the only mascot that they have. Did you know that we technically have 2 at Nebraska? Herbie and Lil’ Red.

For the college student, I included a loofah, body wash, lotion, spray, a toothbrush and toothpaste, floss sticks, deodorant, a blanket, and a stain stick. I figured that those are essential items that every college kid can use. I remember when I when to college and ended up making nightly trips to Walmart because I had forgotten to pack things like toothpaste! Even today when I travel I tend to forget things, so I love to give gift sets like this.

Personal care items make such a great gift basket for college students. Many get meal plans, but forget about those every day things that mom and dad have supplied until they move away.
